Sound Magic announces the release of Supreme Drums Nashville, a new drum instrument designed to capture the authentic character, dynamics, and versatility of Nashville-style drums for modern Country, Country Pop, and Pop production.
Powered by Sound Magic’s latest Supreme Drums Epic V2 Engine, Supreme Drums Nashville combines advanced hybrid drum modeling with detailed sampling technology to deliver an exceptionally natural and expressive playing experience. The engine supports up to 65,536 velocity layers through MIDI 2.0 and an unlimited number of round-robin variations, providing smooth dynamics and highly realistic performance.
At the heart of the instrument is Sound Magic’s proprietary Freeform Layer V2 technology. Designed to take advantage of the high-resolution performance data of MIDI 2.0 while also improving realism under MIDI 1.0, the technology provides detailed velocity response even with standard MIDI controllers. The snare, for example, offers up to 127 velocity layers in MIDI 1.0.
Nashville Sound in a Compact Library
Supreme Drums Nashville was developed from a 67 GB original sample set and distilled into an efficient 531 MB library. It includes 13 complete drum kit pieces and more than 21 individual drums and cymbals, with detailed velocity modeling applied to expressive instruments such as the kick, snare, hi-hat, and ride.
The result is a compact instrument capable of delivering the warm, natural character associated with Nashville recording while remaining highly practical for modern music production.
Beyond Traditional Drum Sampling
Supreme Drums Nashville goes beyond conventional sample playback with its Physical Drum Modeling system. The new Physics section allows users to customize characteristics such as drumhead and shell materials, drum diameter and depth, tuning, head tension, and resonance.
This gives producers and drummers the ability to shape and create unique drum sounds rather than simply selecting from fixed samples.
The instrument also features Fusion Effect System V2, combining EQ, compression, and transient shaping in an intuitive interface. It provides quick access to polished drum sounds while offering deeper controls for advanced users.
